Creative Movement There are two types of movement – creative movement and functional/physical movement. Creative movement encourages children to explore and express themselves in their own individual styles. They do not have to follow the example shared by an adult, and it can occur at any time. When encouraging creative movement the teacher needs to create an opportunity and spark children’s imagination. In other words, get children started by setting the scene and let them take over from there.
